Transform Your Life with Yoga and Ayurveda

Yoga and Ayurveda originated in ancient India over 5,000 years ago, sharing a common philosophical foundation in Sankhya and the Vedas. Together, they form an holistic system for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being—Ayurveda focusing on health and balance, and Yoga guiding self-realisation and inner harmony.

Ayurveda: The Science of Life

  • Origins: Ayurveda was passed by word of mouth before being recorded in texts like the Charaka Samhita. Mythologically, it was gifted by Dhanvantari, the physician of the gods.
  • Focus: Ayurveda emphasises preventive care, diet, lifestyle, and herbal medicine to maintain balance among the biological energies in the body, called the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha).

Yoga: The Path to Self-Realisation

  • Origins: Yoga evolved as a spiritual discipline with texts including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Hatha Yoga Pradipika guiding the practice.
  • Focus: Yoga integrates asanas (postures), pranayama (breath control), meditation, and ethical living to cultivate mental clarity and spiritual growth.

Sister Sciences in Practice

  • Complementary Roles:
    • Ayurveda provides the foundation—understanding body constitution and prescribing lifestyle.
    • Yoga executes the transformation—through movement, breath, and meditation.

This is a powerful combination that can support stress reduction, immune health, and emotional resilience.
